Elena Agudio [Italy]

Elena Agudio is a Berlin based art historian and curator. Her research is focused on the sharing and exchange of knowledge and skills across disciplines and cultures. She studied Art History at the University of Venice – Ca’ Foscari and in 2010 she received her PhD in Art and Design at the University of Palermo. She is artistic director of the non profit association AoN_a platform for Neuroscience and Art, a project in collaboration with the Medical University of Charité, The School of Mind and Brain of the Humboldt University and the Institut für Raumexperimente led by Olafur Eliasson, for which she has been curating projects at the Deutsche Guggenheim (Berlin) and the Library of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection (Venice). http://www.association-of-neuroesthetics.org/She has been recently appointed artistic co-director of Savvy Contemporary, a non profit Berlin based art space founded and directed by Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung. http://www.savvy-contemporary.com She also works as independent curator and writer. Performing Moving Images (co-curator) (Radialsystem, Berlin), Las Americas Latinas (Museum Spazio Oberdan, Milano), Mind the brain! An experimental exhibition, (XXIII Annual Conference of] the “European Health Psychology Society”, in collaboration with the Department of Neuroscience of the University of Pisa) and the series Art and Neuroscience in Dialogue at the Peggy Guggenheim Museum’s Library during the 53rd (sym- posium+installations by Florian Hecker and Sissel Tolaas) and 54th (symposium+installation by Ivana Franke) Venice Art Biennales. She recently lectured at different academic and institutional contexts, among which: Museum Quartier Vienna, Institute for Culture Inquiry – ICI Berlin, Haus der Kulturen der Welt – Berlin, Forum Scientiarum – University of Tübingen, Domus Academy – Milano. She is member of SYNAPSE – The International Curators’ Network organized by the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin.
